Hotel on a Bridge

Seoul to Unveil World’s First Hotel on a Bridge

Seoul is set to introduce a very unusual hotel – the world’s first hotel on a bridge, bridging the northern and southern parts of the city. This innovative hotel, named Sky Suite Hangang Bridge, will open its doors at the northern end of the Hangang Bridge, offering picturesque views of the Han River, in July.

The site previously housed the Nodeul Jiknyeo cafe, which closed down due to the pandemic. Since December last year, the location has been under renovation and has been transformed into a self-contained suite spanning 144 square meters. The suite features a living room, bedroom, and bathroom, accommodating up to four guests. The interior design was handled by Airbnb.

The new hotel on the Hangang Bridge will officially welcome guests starting July 16. A night’s stay will cost between 345,000 won ($253) and 500,000 won.

This project is part of the Oh River City initiative, announced last month. The revitalization plans aim to attract 10 million visitors annually to the Han River by 2030, a significant increase from the current 900,000 visitors per year.
