Russia Plans to Abolish Visas with 6 Countries

Russia is set to abolish visa requirements with several countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, with agreements expected to be signed by the end of 2024, announced Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.

“We are negotiating with several countries to completely eliminate visas. Primarily, these are Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia, and Myanmar. We are discussing this issue with Myanmar. We expect to sign several agreements by the end of this year,” he stated during a plenary session of the “Travel!” tourism forum in Moscow.

Reshetnikov noted that since the introduction of visa-free exchanges and the electronic visa launched in August last year, Russia has welcomed 400,000 foreign tourists.
