Ryanair Becomes First European Airline to Fly 200 Million Passengers in a Year

Ryanair has set a new record in European aviation, becoming the first airline on the continent to carry over 200 million passengers in a single year. The low-cost carrier announced that it transported 200.2 million passengers in its fiscal year ending March 2025, in line with its forecasts.

The milestone comes after Ryanair projected in January that it would reach nearly 200 million passengers for the year, reflecting a 9% increase from the previous year. In March alone, the airline flew 15 million passengers, marking a 10% year-on-year rise.

Despite its strong growth, Ryanair has revised its forecast for the upcoming fiscal year due to ongoing Boeing aircraft delivery delays. In January, the airline cut its projected traffic for the year ending March 2026 to 206 million passengers, down from a previous estimate of 210 million.

Ryanair remains Europe’s largest airline by passenger numbers, solidifying its position as a dominant force in the low-cost travel market. The airline continues to expand its network despite challenges in aircraft supply, aiming to further strengthen its foothold in the European aviation sector.
