British Airways has launched an exquisite new collection of award-winning English sparkling wines and prestigious Champagnes, elevating the in-flight experience for passengers traveling in its First and Club World (business class) cabins across all long-haul flights. This exciting new offering, introduced from 30 March, allows passengers to enjoy some of the finest sparkling wines at 35,000 feet, with selections rotating throughout the year.
A Sparkling First: Exclusive English Wines Onboard
For the first time, British Airways will serve the prestigious English sparkling wines, becoming the only airline to offer award-winning prestige cuvée options onboard. Passengers flying in First class will be treated to some exceptional bottles, starting with 1086 by Nyetimber Rosé 2014, a sparkling wine that brings the taste of summer to the skies. In October, the airline will feature 1086 by Nyetimber 2014, which is notably the first English prestige cuvée ever released.
From July, the luxurious Gusbourne’s Fifty One Degrees North 2016, crafted from exceptional fruit grown in Kent and Sussex, will be served exclusively in First class. Then, in January 2026, a new wine from acclaimed producer Dermot Sugrue, based in the South Downs, will join the collection. These wines reflect British Airways’ commitment to offering a truly unique and high-quality in-flight experience.
A Treat in Club World Too
The airline’s premium selection extends to its Club World cabin, with a rotating series of English sparkling wines for business class travelers to savor. For the upcoming months, passengers can enjoy Digby Fine English’s Brut NV, followed by Gusbourne’s 2019 Vintage Rosé from July. In October, Hattingley Valley’s Blanc de Noirs, crafted exclusively for British Airways, will be introduced to Club World passengers.
Starting January 2026, Roebuck’s Reserve Brut 2020 will feature in the cabin, followed by Digby’s Leander Pink Brut NV from April. This extensive collection ensures that every journey is complemented with a distinctive and elegant touch, whether traveling in First or Club World.
Exclusive Tasting Opportunities at Heathrow’s Galleries First Lounge
In addition to the in-flight selection, passengers eager to explore the world of English sparkling wines before boarding can visit the dedicated tasting area at British Airways’ Galleries First lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 5. Here, they can sample Balfour Rosé de Noirs and Simpsons Chalklands Cuvée Brut NV. These wines set the tone for the exceptional service passengers will enjoy during their flights.
Prestigious Champagne Offerings Onboard
Not only will English sparkling wines be gracing the skies, but a carefully curated selection of prestigious Champagnes will also be available in First. From 30 March, Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle will make its return, followed by Lanson NOBLE Champagne 2008 from July. In October, passengers will be treated to Bollinger La Grande Année 2015 and Bollinger PN AYC18. In January 2026, Rare Champagne and Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millénaires will be added to the premium Champagne offerings. For those traveling from New York (JFK), Veuve Clicquot’s La Grande Dame 2015 will continue to be available in First.
Training for the Ultimate Experience
To enhance the experience even further, over 1,300 British Airways cabin crew members have completed the airline’s First Service Specialist training program. This bespoke wine masterclass, led by the airline’s Master of Wine, equips crew members with the expertise to provide top-notch service and guide passengers through the British Original-inspired food and drink offerings available in the First and Club World cabins. This initiative reflects the airline’s dedication to delivering a premium, personalized service onboard.
A Bright Future for British Airways
This new sparkling wine and Champagne initiative comes as part of British Airways’ £7bn investment program, with over 695 initiatives completed to date, including the launch of a new First cabin in 2026. The airline has also refreshed lounges across its network, with more updates coming this year in key locations such as London Heathrow, Dubai, and Miami.
British Airways continues to set the bar for luxury travel, offering passengers not only a comfortable journey but a taste of British excellence in the sky.
