Revolut Partners with Wizz Air to Streamline Airline Payments

Global fintech company Revolut has announced a major expansion of its Revolut Pay service into the airline industry, partnering with low-cost carrier Wizz Air. The collaboration will enable Wizz Air’s 60 million customers to make secure, one-click payments for ticket bookings, enhancing convenience and transaction speed.

A Faster, More Secure Way to Pay

Initially available through the Wizz Air mobile app, Revolut Pay will also be integrated into the airline’s website by May. This feature will be particularly beneficial for the over four million Revolut users, who will no longer need to manually enter payment details when booking tickets. Instead, they can confirm purchases within seconds via the Revolut app using a passcode or biometric authentication.

As part of the partnership, new Revolut customers can receive a cashback of up to £25 after signing up and making their first purchase of at least £5 with Revolut Pay. This collaboration follows Wizz Air’s recent decision to resume accepting Revolut cards for in-flight purchases.

Industry Leaders Emphasize Innovation

Revolut sees this partnership as a game-changer for airline payments. “Booking and purchasing tickets can be complex and lengthy. By working with innovative brands like Wizz Air, we aim to simplify the process and enhance the travel experience,” said Alex Codina, General Manager, Acquiring at Revolut.

Wizz Air shares this vision, highlighting the benefits for customers. “Our cooperation with Revolut gives our 62 million passengers access to innovative fintech solutions, leading to more flexible and affordable travel options,” said Ian Malin, Wizz Air’s Chief Financial Officer.

Shaping the Future of Airline Payments

This partnership marks another step toward the digital transformation of airline payments, aligning with the growing demand for seamless, secure, and cost-effective transactions in the aviation sector. As Revolut continues expanding its footprint, more travelers will have access to effortless payment solutions, further integrating fintech into everyday travel experiences.
