SkyUp Airlines to Launch Direct Flights from Chisinau to Europe in April 2025

SkyUp Airlines, a leading Ukrainian carrier, has announced its plans to operate direct flights from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, to several European destinations starting in April 2025. The new routes will connect passengers to Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, and Cyprus.

This strategic decision to base operations out of Chisinau International Airport comes in response to the ongoing closure of Ukrainian airspace due to the war. With Chisinau’s proximity to the Ukrainian border, the airport serves as a convenient and accessible gateway for Ukrainians seeking to maintain international connections.

“As a Ukrainian carrier, it has not been easy since the onset of the full-scale invasion. To maintain our team, fleet, and operations, we had to quickly adapt to the global aviation market,” said Dmytro Seroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines. “Today, SkyUp Airlines is an international brand with Ukrainian roots. Our hearts are always warmed when Ukrainians at airports worldwide take photos of our aircraft and share them on social media with the words ‘Because it’s home.’”

The airline’s move highlights its commitment to serving Ukrainian travelers despite the challenges posed by the war. By utilizing Chisinau Airport as a hub, SkyUp Airlines ensures both operational safety and efficiency while continuing to provide essential travel services.

“We are thrilled to launch regular flights again and reconnect with our Ukrainian passengers on board,” Seroukhov added. “We are committed to ensuring Ukrainian aviation remains resilient and making travel easier for Ukrainians around the world.”

This development marks a significant step forward for the airline and offers a lifeline to Ukrainians needing reliable travel options to key European destinations.
