Several European airlines, including Lufthansa and Air France, have announced further cancellations of flights to Israel, Iran, Lebanon, and other countries due to the escalating situation in the Middle East.
Lufthansa has specifically announced the cancellation of flights to the capitals of Iran, Lebanon, and Jordan, as well as to Tel Aviv and Erbil in Iraq, until August 21. During this period, the airline will also avoid flying through Iran and Iraq’s airspace.
Swiss International Air Lines has similarly canceled all flights until August 21, but only to Tel Aviv and Beirut. During this time, the airline will not use airspace in Iran, Iraq, or Israel.
Meanwhile, Air France and Transavia France have canceled all flights to Beirut until Wednesday.
Earlier this summer, these and other airlines around the world temporarily suspended flights to several Middle Eastern countries due to rising tensions in the region.
