Singapore Changi Airport Wins World’s Best Airport 2025 at Skytrax Awards

Singapore Changi Airport has once again claimed the title of World’s Best Airport 2025, earning global recognition at the Skytrax World Airport Awards held at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Madrid on April 9, 2025. This marks the 13th time Changi has been named the world’s top airport—a remarkable feat that highlights its continued excellence in the aviation industry.

In addition to taking the highest honor, Changi also swept three other major categories: World’s Best Airport Dining, World’s Best Airport Washrooms, and Best Airport in Asia. These wins reflect the airport’s commitment to creating a seamless, clean, and enjoyable experience for millions of travelers each year.

Skytrax, a UK-based air transport rating organization, compiles the annual rankings based on votes from international air travelers across more than 100 countries. The awards measure everything from terminal cleanliness to food variety, service quality, and overall passenger satisfaction.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, praised Changi’s performance, noting that this year introduced the award for World’s Best Airport Washrooms, which went to Singapore as well. According to him, washroom cleanliness is a surprisingly major driver of passenger satisfaction, and Changi scored highly in this new category from the start.

With over 60 million passengers annually, Singapore Changi serves as a vital hub in Asia and continues to set the global standard for airport excellence. Its mix of high-end dining, efficient operations, and unique attractions—including butterfly gardens and movie theaters—has turned it into more than just a transit point.

Following Changi on the global ranking were Hamad International Airport in Qatar and Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) in Japan. Tokyo Haneda was also awarded titles for being the World’s Cleanest Airport and best Domestic Airport, and offering the Best PRM & Accessible Facilities.

Several standout names in Europe, the Middle East, and North America are among the top 20 global airports for 2025, including Incheon International Airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, Dubai International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.

The awards also highlighted top-performing airports by size. Tokyo Haneda led airports handling over 70 million passengers, while Singapore Changi topped the 60 to 70 million category. Smaller airports like Goa Manohar International Airport and Bahrain International Airport also received praise in their passenger brackets.

The continued recognition of Singapore Changi Airport not only celebrates its innovation and service but also underlines the rising expectations travelers have for airports worldwide. As global travel bounces back, the competition among international airports is heating up—and for now, Changi is still setting the pace.
