Iberia has revealed an impressive expansion to its 2025-2026 winter flight schedule, with significant increases in flights to Latin America. As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership in the market, Iberia will offer over 355 weekly flights to Latin America, totaling 2.4 million seats available for the upcoming winter season. This will further solidify the airline’s position as the largest carrier between Europe and Latin America.
One of the most notable changes in Iberia’s 2025-2026 winter schedule is the increased service to key destinations such as Chile, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. Iberia will enhance its flights to Santiago de Chile, Lima, and Santo Domingo, reflecting the growing demand for travel between Spain and these regions.
Increased Flights to Santiago de Chile
Iberia’s service to Santiago de Chile will see a significant boost, with the airline adding two more weekly frequencies, bringing the total to 12 flights per week. This translates to over 176,000 seats for Chilean travelers, representing a 20% increase from the previous winter. With this change, Iberia is further cementing its commitment to enhancing connections between Spain and South America, providing more flexibility and convenience for passengers.
Growth in Lima’s Service Frequency
Lima, Peru, will also experience growth in flight offerings. Iberia will increase its weekly flights from 13 to 14, meaning there will be two daily flights between Madrid and Lima. This increase will make it easier for passengers, with around 1,360 people able to travel between the two cities each day. This enhanced service underscores Iberia’s focus on strengthening its position as the leading airline between Spain and Latin America.
More Flights to Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, will also see an increase in flight frequencies. Iberia will offer up to 13 weekly flights during peak months, providing around 142,000 seats throughout the season. This expansion is a direct response to the increasing demand for travel between Spain and the Caribbean, allowing for more options for passengers heading to the vibrant region.
Other Latin American Destinations
Aside from the increases to Chile, Peru, and the Dominican Republic, Iberia’s winter 2025-2026 schedule will continue to include a robust offering of flights to other major Latin American cities. Popular destinations such as Buenos Aires, Bogotá, and Mexico City will maintain three daily flights, totaling 21 weekly frequencies. Additionally, cities like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Quito, and Montevideo will see regular weekly flights to and from Madrid.
Iberia’s flight expansion strategy aligns with its goal to provide a reliable and consistent service for travelers while maintaining its leadership role in the Latin American market. MarÃa Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s Commercial, Network Development, Alliances, and Customers Director, emphasized the airline’s commitment to offering greater travel opportunities for passengers: “Our goal is not only to continue consolidating our position as the leading airline between Europe and Latin America, but also to offer a stable and consistent flight schedule that strengthens our customers’ trust.”
With the 2025-2026 winter schedule in place, Iberia is set to offer an unparalleled experience for travelers looking to connect Europe and Latin America.
