Luxury is coming to one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions as IHG Hotels & Resorts partners with Strategic Alliance to bring the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa to life. Scheduled to open in 2028, pending planning approval, this 150-room luxury retreat will be the first internationally branded luxury hotel in South Australia’s Barossa Valley.
Nestled among the region’s rolling hills and world-renowned vineyards, the InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa aims to provide an elegant and immersive experience for wine lovers, leisure travelers, and corporate guests alike. Each guest room will offer stunning views of the scenic landscape, with select accommodations featuring private balconies overlooking the lush vineyards and cellar doors.
When complete, the resort will boast a 130-seat signature restaurant showcasing Australia’s finest flavors with a modern twist. Guests can also unwind at the sophisticated lounge bar, outdoor garden terrace, and Club InterContinental, adding to the resort’s refined ambiance.
For relaxation and wellness, the property will offer a luxurious day spa, a swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. Corporate retreats and events will be well-catered with extensive meeting and conference facilities, fulfilling the demand for a world-class event venue in the Barossa. Guests will also have access to scenic walking trails and outdoor activities, ensuring a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
The InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa will further strengthen IHG’s presence in the Luxury & Lifestyle (L&L) segment. The group currently operates 22 luxury properties across Australasia Pacific, with an additional 9 hotels in the pipeline, reinforcing its commitment to expanding high-end hospitality in the region.
As the Barossa continues to attract wine enthusiasts and luxury travelers, this upcoming InterContinental resort promises to redefine premium accommodation in South Australia.
