Kazakhstan is set to expand its international air travel network in 2025, adding 16 new global destinations and welcoming several new low-cost airlines. Talgat Lastayev, Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport, announced the expansion, highlighting the country’s growing aviation sector.
The Central Asian nation has been steadily increasing its international flight offerings, now maintaining regular air service with 31 countries and 58 cities. In 2024 alone, Kazakhstan introduced 12 new routes to destinations such as Mumbai, Jidda, and Prague while also resuming 10 previously suspended routes.
New Destinations and Airlines
Among the newly announced flight destinations for 2025 are Rome, Munich, Budapest, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Busan, providing passengers with greater access to major business and tourism hubs across Europe and Asia.
Additionally, four new low-cost airlines are set to enter Kazakhstan’s market:
- SpiceJet (India)
- Eastar Jet (South Korea)
- T’way Air (South Korea)
- Thai AirAsia (Thailand)
The addition of these budget carriers will offer travelers more affordable options, making it easier to explore Kazakhstan and connect to global destinations.
A Growing Aviation Market
Kazakhstan’s aviation sector has been expanding year after year, with 199 destinations now accessible from the country’s airports. The introduction of new flights aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and boost tourism.
National carrier Air Astana is also contributing to this growth, with plans to launch a new route between Almaty and Mumbai starting April 20, 2025.
With more flight options, increased accessibility, and competitive pricing from budget carriers, Kazakhstan’s air travel industry is set for significant growth in the coming year.
